by Raymond Martin Pothecary Visit Date:May 24, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Enjoyed the stay but the hotel needs some upgrading and looks a bit tired in places. Restaurant/buffet was good and location right by River Kwai Bridge (5 minute walk)" |
by Mark Riggall Visit Date:April 19, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The room itself was nice enough if a little tired as is the rest of the Hotel. The Sonkran boat cruise was an hour too long at 2 1/2hrs and was very hot and sweaty. The main thing to let this pplace down was the Spa, if it can called that. The facilities were a disgrace for a hotel of this size and stature and the service was a joke. The lady was on her phone during the massage and kept leaving the room to talk to her friend. If you want a 5 star stay in Kanchanaburi DONT stay here as i only discovered whilst i was there there is a Beuatiful new hotel Dheva Mantra where id be staying if returned located just up the road." |

by Richard Senior Visit Date:January 29, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Large, clean and friendly resort next to river Kwai. Close to Kanchanaburi town (If you don t mind the treacherous walk over the rail bridge) Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and large but with some niggles (Noisy / broken AC) Breakfast - OK. Buffet dinner - poor. Facilites - good." |

by Sue Renkin Visit Date:January 4, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The room balcony was extreemly dirty and almost unusable. The pathways and stairs were also grubby and needed maintenance. The rooms themselves were ok, but the bathroom was below par. Room service was very slow. No coffee making facilities in the room. The pool area was good and the grounds were generally impressive." |
by JEAN GAILLARDON Visit Date:November 17, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Very important structure of several small 2 storey building nestled in beautiful gardens with 2 swimming pools. Our deluxe room was facing the River Kwai which was a very great moment at Sunset! Chinese restaurant serves a real Chinese food with an excellent Peking Duke and the ambiance in the bar at night was a great moment thanks to the live band. The buffet breakfast is huge and excellent. Nothing to say about staff, most of them English speaking, they do their job in a correct way. The main advantage of this hotel is that it is located at a walkind distance from the famous bridge." |
by Dr Neil Peach Visit Date:October 25, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Efficient service right from the very beginning. All staff were exceptional in professionalism. Surrounds were so beautiful and all very relaxing. Buffet breakfast very adequate. Room overlooking River Kwai very adequate. Swimming pools refreshing! Very convenient location for easy walk across bridge." |
by Susan Jane Gordon Visit Date:October 25, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Hotel is in a lovely location and the gardens are wonderful, our room overlooked the river. The breakfast was ordinary but for what we paid it was not bad.The staff were very helpful it was a shame that the hotel was not busier.Tour desk (we booked a trip on the train and elephant ride, waterfall and Hell Fire Pass - our guide nickname X was excellent and also the driver)TV s in the restaurant - not the best location the hotel would be better off investing in having UBC in guest rooms instead!" |
by Paulhorst Kann Visit Date:October 13, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We have stayed for 2 nights at The Felix River Kwai Resort. It was very nice, good rooms (bath rooms will be getting a little bit old - but O.K.).We would stay there again." |
by Udomluk Tangsajja Visit Date:September 16, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "The check-in was efficient, we had booked 2 x double rooms, we arrived at 2pm only one room was ready, we waited until 3pm for the 2nd room. This is our 2nd stay at the hotel, the 1st stay was in 2007. The rooms are in real need of renovation. The bathrooms especially need an update, cracked tiles etc. The linen and towels are very old. On returing to our room for our 2nd night we had no toilet roll and only 1 tissue neatly folded and put into the empty box. I had to telephone twice to get a toilet roll delivered. The 3rd night, we had no hand towels. At 2000baht per night this is an expensive hotel in Kanchanaburi and should be better. The breakfast is very good and the two evening meals we had were very good, the Chinese restaurant peking duck was excellent. The location is near the bridge and can be walked over to get into the more tourist part, we had a car so getting around was easy." |
