Very booking sefficient service., August 14, 2008 by Cathy Bird Visit Date:July 24, 2008 "Staff very friendly, fanatastic views from the restaurant, delicious food and the tents were very comfortable. Lovely mountain water swimming pool. All in all we had a brilliant stay. Highly recommended." |
Very efficient and easy, July 15, 2008 by Gauri Thomas Visit Date:July 12, 2008 "We love this place and have stayed here two weekends so far. It is a great choice if you want to get away from the madness of Bangkok. We will definitely stay here when we go back to Kanchanaburi. The staff are very, very friendly and helpful. There are only 3 staff who speak English but they always seemed to be around to help so communication was no issue. The food is good - they accommodated all our special food needs (gluten, lactose free). The natural pool is lovely, very refreshing with a beautiful view (it is a dipping pool not a swimming pool). Take books to read as there isn t too much to do in that area. The resort can arrange boat tours and treks. We went with our 9 month old baby and were never short of help to entertain us so that we could eat, we had an extra bed in the room. The rooms are nice. The second time we went we thought that the tents smelt a little musty, might have been the result of a week of rain. Beds and linen are clean. We would go back here in a tick!" |
Fast and efficient. Customer service personnel provided information that prevented me from executing a disaster for the tour I booked., May 12, 2008 by Chia Jin Ngee Visit Date:May 6, 2008 "Peaceful surrounds that brings you close to nature but pulls you back a bit with the A/C unit in each tent. The nature pool is wonderful with cold river water. The loud cicadas give a jungle feeling to it all and yet the birds in the morning makes every morning so sweet.Check my review and travelogues at Virtual Tourist with pictures.http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/tt/9fa19/#TLhttp://members.virtualtourist.com/vt/tfr/1/160e0c/3/1c64fe/" |
Excellent service, quick and safe. Loved the SMS confirmations while we were travelling., April 28, 2008 by Susan Murphy Visit Date:April 24, 2008 "The tent was fine, quite nice in fact, but would not stay here again. We found the bar/receptionist surly, she had an attitude. Food was dreadful. The worst we had in our whole Thailand trip. The price included dinner and breakfast and was quite expensive - we expected a lot better. At a loss to find it a romatic spot as per a prevoius reviewer. We left as soon as we could. " |

November 27, 2007 by Norman Teo Visit Date:November 20, 2007 "The staff were always friendly and helpful. Never once are they not around when I needed anything. The sunset view from the restaurant was excellent. Clean tent. Overall my stay was enjoyable and relaxing. They need a better map to the Hellfire Pass though." |
Very Good., May 9, 2007 by Elizabeth Galvin Visit Date:March 27, 2007 "We had a super time here! We were only there for 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer! It is sooooo romantic. We couldnt believe the view from the bar/restaurant-looking out onto the River Kwai and the mountains in the distance - the sunsets are magical. We were the only guests (we were there in low season) but they treated us like King and Queen. The food is really good here. The whole camp is built in a really cool natural/eco/rustic style using nearby resources. The luxury tent was great fun - spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is attached to the tent but is kind of outdoors, so you can have a shower/go to the loo, and look up at the stars! All in luxury eco-friendly style. Hintok River Camp is just a half hour walk from the famous Hell Fire Pass Museum. You can walk along the route of the old rail track and see the memorials left in rememberance. Hin Tok River Camp is not more than an hour away from the town of Kanchanaburi, but you have to look closely for the sign as its quite small. We overshot it and ended up doing a 200km detour. Take my advice and bring a very good map of this area with you, because not many taxi drivers can speak english around here.I definately reccommend Hin Tok River Camp for anyone who loves nature, peaceful surroundings, historical/wwII points of interest, romantic sunsets, walking or biking, and the comfort of a luxury tent with your own balcony. There is also a beautiful dairy cow on site, grazing at the green grass all day long, who we named Daisy !!!!This place is magical!" |
